General description

This lecture is a continuation of T1. Various aspects and concepts of spatial analysis. Analysis methodology and examples. The basics of a grammar of shapes and methods of its formalization. Application of the grammar of shapes in the formalization of architectural tectonics, examples in an architectural and urban planning scale. Potential and limits in formalization. Perspectives of applying compositional formalization in the design process.

The seminar undertakes an effort at creating forms on the basis of defined formal assumptions based on an analysis of existing historical examples. The experiment involves the creation of tectonic compositions in various scales. Notation of premises, formalization of methods applied, and effects of the experiment are used in the presentation.
