ZOOM ON: a shared living model designed to bring generations together.
Located in Słupsk, Poland, this residential project creates a supportive environment for diverse age groups, including families, single parents, and elderly residents. The architectural concept is organised around a distinctive central distribution tower functioning both as a circulation core and a social meeting point which connects the apartments through a network of external galleries and encourages everyday interaction.
The ground floor forms an open and welcoming interface with the city, combining public galleries and shared functions such as a library and café with residential access and communal courtyard spaces. These areas foster connection not only among residents, but also between the building and the wider neighbourhood.
Above, a green rooftop provides an additional shared environment for residents, featuring landscaped spaces, a communal kitchen, and a terrace designed for gatherings, relaxation, and outdoor activities. Together, the distribution tower, gallery system, and layered communal spaces create a cohesive framework that promotes neighbourly interaction and a strong sense of community.
Developed within Design Studio 1 (2025/26) led by dr inż. arch. Jakub Szczęsny, the project was presented in the presence of special guests: Mr. Maciej Araszkiewicz, Chief of the Architecture and Planning Department of the Municipality of Słupsk, Dean of our Faculty dr hab. inż. arch. Krzysztof Koszewski, and ASK director, dr inż. arch. Krystian Kwieciński.
