Karol Argasiński received his master’s in architectural engineering from the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology. Interested in cultural heritage, he is deepening his architectural heritage and historic preservation knowledge at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
He is working on his Ph.D. at the Warsaw University of Technology on creating virtual modeling standards for architectural heritage.
Out of his passion for historic and heritage preservation, he founded BIMfaktoria. The company participates in activities that aim to improve the work of architects and engineers in the AECO industry by implementing BIM software, OpenBIM methodologies and BIM technology processes throughout the project lifecycle.
He is a university lecturer at ZIGURAT Global Institute of Technology, during the Global BIM Management and Construction Project Management master’s program, where he shares his views on BIM implementation, CDE’s (Common Data Environments) and OpenBIM working methods. He is also a AI Hochschule Mainz – University of Applied Sciences research assistant.
He is also co-editor of the BIMe initiative, contributing to the Polish version of the BIM Dictionary. He holds the certifications GRAPHISOFT Certified BIM Manager and Certified ArchiCAD Professional. With his experience, he develops and actively teaches software techniques and works with companies to introduce them to the world of OpenBIM by implementing software and work methods. He is also a member of the buildingSMART Polish Chapter working at EduRoom and certified as buildingSMART Certified Professional.
