This task is intended to be summary for the methodology of design process.
During this short seminar students observed and follow their own design process taking place with their most important design course – the diploma project.
The diagram board refers to known design methodologies, developed form 60ties XX cent and shows own diploma design decisions in such context.
When we look at final design, we see – usually – only the result. The process which lies in the background is somehow hidden. However, it is significant, that the importance of design process increases, it is revealed more and more. Sometimes it is claimed to be at least of the same importance as the result.
Consciuos decisions, support for design thinking, understanding of the process of creation – they form the foundations of contemporary architecture.
There are students works showing phases of design work; not only succesful attempts, also some failures which are left behind, but neccessary for design development. These are usually not mentioned, even underestimated. Lets reveal them, try to asses our decisions critically, observe the idea development, learn how to design.
